The face behind the product

LUC GUILLAUME

As a child, the forest was Luc Guillaume’s favourite playground. Although woodworking has always thrilled him, Luc Guillaume long preferred to keep his talent as a hobby, not daring to take the plunge and make a career of it. The trigger was his meeting with Pitt Brandenburger, an artist who helped him to perfect his techniques and combine materials. Since then, Luc Guillaume has been using wood chips to create unique objects, both useful and decorative. In 2010, at the instigation of his wife, he started to manufacture pens. These small objects with a wide range of creative possibilities now come to life in his hands, after being carved for hours in his workshop in Käerjeng, in the southwest of the country.

The product and its values

THE PEN FOR THE OSAKA WORLD EXPO 2025

This unique pen combines two carefully selected wood species to evoke the deep connection between Luxembourg and Japan: purple beech and Japanese cherry. The union of these two woods symbolises the meeting of two cultures and perfectly reflects the theme of connectivity highlighted during the Osaka World Expo. This exceptional pen is offered in a limited edition at the Luxembourg pavilion in Osaka, providing visitors an object that is both functional and rich in meaning.
