The face behind the product
LYNN COSYN
Designer Lynn Cosyn didn’t start out illustrating but rather as an architect, after studying architecture in Aachen, Germany. However, architecture soon proved to be too limited and not creative enough for her taste, so Lynn began putting pen to paper, filling her drawings with amusing and colourful details. As in the most beautiful fairy tales, success came at Christmas: having posted several of her drawings on her Instagram account, she was immediately spotted and a few days later received a request from the US to illustrate Luxembourg. Bingo! Her reputation was launched. Her sources of inspiration are numerous: nature, animals, architecture, cities and great illustrators such as Miroslav Šašek, who exerted such an influence during the 60s. But without giving in to the pressure of fame, whether illustrating an aeroplane or a greetings card, she attempts to approach the subjects with the same freshness, trying to convey calm and lightness with her pencils by playing with reality. Unwilling to get bogged down by habit, she always seeks new adventures. Her first children’s book is a collection of short stories designed to inspire children to do lots of new things. It’s advice that Lynn applies to herself.
